Before the Dawn

Last night was honestly the best night of my life. Kate Bush is beyond amazing… beyond stunning. She is an angel, and I will never forget Before the Dawn for as long as I live. Her voice is so immensely beautiful, every note was absolutely perfect. It was the best performance I have ever seen and the theatrics left me speechless. I have honestly never cried so much in my entire life; I couldn’t quite comprehend that I was in the same room as Kate Bush. Her stage presence is something else, she is so cute and her confidence blew me away. The words I have written here do not even come close to the actual description. And all I can say is I am eternally grateful to have even had this chance in my lifetime.

What a great writer she is and Ruth is one of those songs that, when I first heard it, I thought ‘Oh, I wanna record that song someday’. As writers we do that whenever a song comes on the radio that we love we go, ‘I wanna record that and re-interpret it’, every once in a while you do that but you finally smarten up and go ‘I can’t really do that song better than Kate Bush did’ - so if you can’t outdo her then just don’t bother! I also just really loved her because she was a woman songwriter and she was really standing out from the fray, y’know ? A real, serious writer who could compare with any of the guys and then you’d see her in her videos and she was kinda like a Ninja … and so she was like tough y’know and she was a beautiful dancer and she wrote beautiful songs but she wrote interesting, on the edge songs. As a writer I just respected her because of that.
